This pendant is a detailed representation of one of the most famous Aztec artefact: "the double-headed snake named Maquizcoatl" which original piece is kept in the British museum of London.
As the original is a large piece of wood recovered with a mosaic of natural turquoise stone and shells, we made a sleek representation in sterling silver.
Meaning:
The Maquizcoatl, meaning "bracelet serpent" in Nahuatl, is a mythical two-headed serpent in Aztec culture, symbolizing omens and augury. According to the Códice Florentino, encountering it foretold life or death depending on how it fit when placed on one's arm. Associated with power and divine wisdom, it reflects Aztec reverence for duality, spiritual balance, and cosmic cycles.

Please take into account a manufacturing lead time of 3 weeks for the manufacture of the latter in our workshop before shipping your package.
