This pendant represents the ancient Egyptian symbol of the Eye of Horus, also called the Eye of the Falcon God, which is one of the most famous Egyptian symbols still today. The Eye of Horus was an amulet symbolizing health and integrity that protected, in the time of the Egyptians, its wearer against disease.
The pendant is our own design of the Eye of Horus, made in our jewelry workshop. As you can see in the pictures, it represents the left wedjat eye with an incrustation of fine stone in the pupil of the eye. This design of the Eye of Horus is unique and you can customize your pendant by choosing between an incrustation of natural turquoise stone or natural lapis lazuli stone.
The fine stone representing the pupil is a cabochon in the shape of a half-hemisphere 6 millimeters in length and 3.5 millimeters in width, it is cut and shaped in our workshop.
Eye of Horus symbol & meaning:
The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol representing the left Eye of the Divinity Horus who lost his eye fighting his uncle Set. Later his eye was healed by Thoth, another Egyptian divinity. For this reason, the Eye of Horus symbolizes well-being, healing, and protection and was commonly used as a protective amulet in ancient Egypt. It has been the most commonly used amulet for almost 2000 years from the Old Kingdom to the Roman period.
The pendant is 17 millimeters high by 22 millimeters wide and 25 millimeters in total with the chain loop with a weight of 3 grams in sterling silver, making it a durable jewel because of its substantial weight.
