Jewelry Inspired by Joan of Arc's Historical Legacy
Nearly six centuries after her death, Saint Joan of Arc remains one of the most recognizable figures of French and medieval history. Over the centuries, countless images and legends have shaped the way she is remembered. Yet surviving documents, objects and contemporary accounts allow us to approach her story through more tangible historical traces.
These sources are the inspiration behind our Joan of Arc jewelry collection.
Our Joan of Arc ring draws upon both the descriptions of the rings discussed during her trial in 1431 and the surviving ring traditionally attributed to her. We offer two interpretations, including a historical reconstruction based on the description mentioning the names of Jesus and Mary together with three crosses.
Our Joan of Arc coat of arms medal is inspired by the heraldic arms traditionally associated with her, featuring the distinctive fleurs-de-lis, sword and crown. Rather than portraying Joan herself, this medal explores the heraldic symbols connected with her history and her service to the French crown.
Our Saint Joan of Arc medal and necklace depicts Joan in armor and carries the Latin version of one of her best-known historical quotes:
“Si ego non sum, Deus ponat me in illa; si vero sum, Deus me in ipsa perseveret.”
Recorded in the proceedings of her 1431 trial, the passage relates to Joan's celebrated response when questioned about whether she believed herself to be in the grace of God. The medal combines this historical Joan of Arc quote with a portrait evoking her faith, courage and determination.
Finally, our Joan of Arc signature pendant takes inspiration from the handwritten “Jehanne” signature appearing on a letter addressed to the people of Reims on March 16, 1430. It is one of the rare surviving signatures traditionally attributed to Joan on original historical documents.
Minimalist in design, the pendant uses the signature itself rather than a portrait or religious symbol, creating a more discreet and personal connection with Joan of Arc's history.

Our collection is not simply intended to reproduce later representations of Joan of Arc.
Each piece begins with a specific historical reference: her ring, her coat of arms, words preserved from her trial, or her “Jehanne” signature. We then interpret these elements through our work as jewelers, combining historical research with design, modeling, casting, engraving and traditional finishing techniques.
