This impressive pendant is a detailed reproduction of one of the most famous piece of jewelry from prehispanic times in Mexico: The pectoral de Yanhuitlán
Meaning:
The Yanhuitlán pectoral, a renowned piece of Mixtec (Oaxaca State of Mexico) goldsmithing from the Postclassic period (10th-16th centuries), is a pendant shaped like a circular shield, made of gold and turquoise, materials symbolic in Mesoamerica. Gold represents the sun and war, while turquoise evokes the sky, water, and life. These elements intertwine in a pattern reminiscent of fertility, death, and renewal. The four arrows crossing the pectoral symbolize the directions of the Universe, converging at a central point, symbolically uniting the forces of war, the sun, and water.
This pendant is made of a round central part that is 55 millimeters in diameter (around 2 inches) with 9 rattles attached to the bottom and 4 arrows crossing the central part.

This pendant is the faithfull reproduction of the original pendant, it is available is different metals:
- Sterling Silver: The pendant weighs 55 grams in sterling silver
- Sterling Silver with Gold coating: The pendant is made of sterling silver with a 3 microns pure yellow gold plating
- 18K gold: The pendant is made of 18k solid gold that can be yellow or white
This pendant is made in our worshop, from the design of the CAD model, the 3D printing, casting and stone cutting to fit into the pendant the natural turquoise stones. This making is similar to our Aztec ring.
As you can notice, you have the choice between an economical faithful reproduction in silver of the antique Mixteca pendant or an exact reproduction made of solid gold that is much more expensive.
Note that you can choose to buy a chain with your pendant to be able to wear your pendant on your neck, your chain will be made of silver in case you choose this option, silver gold coated in case you choose this option of 18k gold if you choose the 18k gold option (in this case the gold weight of your chain is 3,5 grams).
