Aztec Flower Pendant Xotchitl
$85.00
Aztec pendant in sterling silver representing a flower.
This pendant is a reproduction of the Aztec symbol of a Flower. Flowers, or xochitl, were deeply woven into the fabric of Aztec culture. Adorning temples, altars, and homes, they brought vibrancy to sacred and everyday spaces. Beyond decoration, flowers served as the basis for perfumes, medicines, and divine offerings, embodying beauty, joy, and fertility. Integral to festivals and celebrations, they symbolized life's richness and its connection to the gods.
The pendant is made in sterling silver oxidized, which allow to highlight all the details engraved showing a very precise reproduction of antique Aztec symbols. You will see the details of the flower in 3D relief as the pendant is at least 5 millimeters thick.
Meaning:
In Nahuatl, the Aztec language, Xochitl means "flower." For the Aztecs, flowers symbolized beauty, life, and joy, but also how fleeting everything is. They were central to poetry and song—seen as the ultimate way to express truth and creativity. Flowers were a big part of ceremonies and offerings, too. In Aztec mythology, Xochipilli, the god of love, beauty, and music, was depicted with flowers on his face and clothes, so this is the perfect pendant with a meaning to offer to the beautiful woman you love.
