Quetzal Ring
$79.00
Quetzal ring in sterling silver.
This ring represents a quetzal bird which was a sacred bird and symbol of goodness and light in Aztec culture. The quetzal bird is endemic to Mexico and is still very common in many states of Mexico. It is catacterized by a long tail and flashy green color on the main part of its body and vivid red color on its belly, which make it very visible in flight.
This ring shows the head of the quetzal bird with part of its feathers. You can see the beack, the eyes and some feathers.
Quetzal symbolism for Aztecs:
For the Aztecs, the quetzal bird symbolized beauty, freedom, and divine connection. Its brilliant green feathers were linked to Quetzalcoatl divinity. Highly prized, the feathers were used in royal and priestly attire, more valuable than gold. The bird was never killed, reflecting respect for life and nature. As a creature of the sky, the quetzal represented a bridge between the earthly and spiritual worlds, embodying harmony and sacred knowledge.
