Black gold alexandrite engagement ring in 18-karat gold.
Classic engagement ring design featuring a prong set alexandrite stone with a halo of small white diamonds surrounding it. The body of the ring is also set with small diamonds, giving an important luminous effect to the ring and highlighting the colors of the alexandrite stone.
As a reminder, black gold is obtained with a black Rhodium coating on 18k white solid gold. This coating is 5 micrometers thick. Under the coating is 18k white gold.
The alexandrite stone, although it is not considered an "official" gemstone, is a stone that can be more expensive than the diamond, given its rarity, it is also very little known to the general public. It has the particularity of changing color depending on whether the incident light is natural or artificial, it thus appears blue-green in daylight and has a purplish hue when exposed to artificial light.
The history of this stone is recent since the date of its first discovery dates back only to 1830 in the Urals and it was named in honor of Tsar Alexander of Russia.
The proposed ring design shows an alexandrite stone 3.5 millimeters in diameter in the center of a halo of 14 small white diamonds 1 millimeter in diameter, brilliant cut. The ring body is decorated with 14 small diamonds (7 on each arm) with a diameter ranging from 1 to 1.2 millimeters and also claw-set. All diamonds are HSI quality and all 28 diamonds in the ring total diamond weight of 0.13 carat.
The ring is 6 millimeters wide at the diamond halo and 1.7 millimeters wide at the bottom of the ring for a weight of 2.4 grams of 18-karat gold in size US 7. Note that the weight of the gold of your ring may vary slightly depending on your ring size.
